This is an interview of Harald Stieber, senior economist at the European Commission during the Data for Policy 2019 Conference and coordinator of “Modelling the European Economy as an Ecosystem of contracts”.
During this interview, Harald Stieber speaks about how Data for Policy links academics and practitioners in an interactive format.
He also speaks about data linked to contracts such as data in End-user license agreement but also on the importance of modelling the data.
Harald Stieber explains that there is underestimated value in modelling data from the beginning, and when there is a contract signature, it could be a structured data model.
He notes that data gathering in a repository for governments is a challenge, however this allows to spend less money on external contracts.
He concludes by explaining how big this opportunity is, that by modelling problems correctly, there can be an increase in quality.
